Tried the Old Colonial Inn Saturday evening for the first time. Loved the historic old building and decor. We were seated in the library, which was less crowded and cozy. Our server, Liz was very informative and attentive. Our dinner selections were delicious, followed by raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. We were not disappointed and look forward to returning.
Food was excellent and the atmosphere made the place! Waitresses were great and staff very nice. The food took quite a while though and the overall dining experience was roughly 2 1/2 hours. Overall, great place to come check out.
Wow. What a fantastic meal! The service was excellent too. I had the special of the evening, A chicken based dish of cooked vegetables in a medium brother over mashed potatoes that were heavenly. Dri ks and desert were awesomeThe waitress was perfect and the owners were on site and very welcoming. Extremely busy on a Thursday so make reservations and dine here. Everyone's meal at our table was excellent.
The Old Colonial Inn is a very nice little restaurant, and my wife and I had a great time. The restaurant is located inside of an old hotel, and if you like historical settings, then you'll love the vintage feel of this place. The hotel rooms don't seem to be used for anything anymore, although it seems like it would make a great B&B. They have a small but tasty menu of dishes, and the prices might be a tad high, but not terrible. The size of the portions could be a little bigger, especially the salads, which seemed unusually small for some reason. The quality of the food, however, was first rate. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated, and there are several rooms available. This gives it a feeling of being nicely intimate, without ever feeling crowded, since they can spread guests out into other rooms as needed. The bar room is nice and the staff were friendly. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. However, at these prices, mostly I would go for special occasions, like dates or anniversaries. If I was just hungry and wanted a good meal, I would probably go to the excellent family restaurant just down the street.
Great place! Private club luxury with reasonable, small town prices.
We had a reservation for five at the Old Colonial Inn this past Friday, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The atmosphere has that classic, comfortable charm you hope for in a place like this, and the service was warm, attentive, and right on point. The food was the real highlight of the night. Our group ordered a mix of steaks and prime rib, and every single plate was spot-on. The steaks were perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and exactly to temperature—while the prime rib was juicy and rich without being heavy. You can tell they take pride in how they prepare their meals. It’s not often a whole table is unanimously impressed, but Old Colonial Inn pulled it off. Great food, great service, and a great night overall. We’ll definitely be back!
My husband and I have been coming here for a handful of years on special occasions and every single time we visit, the experience is truly wonderful. We are so appreciative of everyone responsible for guaranteeing such a great time!
